It’s been a while since we had an update on here! We have been super busy! We are proud to announce the acquisition of one of the first RED SCARLET-X cameras! Right here in NY we have serial #94 of this highly anticipated camera of the future! Capable of full 4k imaging, resolution 4 times the size of conventional HD. This camera has been really great to us, and we have been shooting a ton with it. We have tons of projects that need to be thrown up on here and some really amazing footage. Our RED workflow is fantastic and the amount of data processing we are doing is off the charts!

Commercial: Army Vs. Navy

Working as a freelancer definitely has its perks! Working with some of the best shooters in the biz, we created a video that introduced the Army Vs. Navy Football game last year. It was a great experience getting to go up to West Point and Annapolis. All of the kids were great to work with and very appreciative and understanding of our shoot. And their performances were really fantastic!

Shooting on DSLR’s is always a good time. Especially now that we have all the proper peices to make the job go smoothly. The portion I was involved with, the two glee club performances, was shot on multiple Canon 5d’s. One of which was flying with the incredibly talented Adam from Black Dog Jib

Despite some rainy weather and a lot of travel, this shoot went really well! We had a really small crew on this one. It is always great to see how much can get done with only a handful of devoted and skilled individuals.

Web Video: Parade Magazine – Veterans Day

For Veterans day 2011 VigilanteHD helped out on a shoot with NYLAHD entitled “Why We Serve”. The video was an complimenting a very touching article by Parade Magazine with Retired U.S. Army Gen. Colin L. Powell and six war veterans from six different wars. It was a pleasure to work with such hard working an powerful individuals. Commercial: Chase Freedom

Happy New Years from everyone at VigilanteHD! 2011 was a fantastic year and we are looking forward to an explosive new year in 2012! There are a lot of projects in the works for 2012 and we can’t wait to get started! A few months ago we worked again with our good friends over at The Jacks Firm on a project promoting the Chase Freedom card. It was a relatively simple shoot with some high tech specifications due to how the material would eventually be delivered. Always fun shooting on a Red One with a great cast and crew. Even though we were shooting in a tight location where space was at a premium, each department worked around each other very efficiently and without a hangup. Everyone under The Jacks Firm umbrella is gold in my book, and I think the efficiency and good spirits of everyone involved are what really propel their productions to a high standard. Can’t wait for the next one!

Commercial: Chevy Spy Thriller

In the fall we shot a commercial with Hero Status films for a Chevrolet contest through MSN. The shoot was super fun and all of our actors and crew were fantastic! With any luck our spot will be shown during the Super Bowl! Exciting stuff! It’s great to be working with Hero Status films as they are one of New York’s most ingenuitive and creative video production companies. I’m always impressed with how enthusiastic they are!

Web Video: New York Forum Event

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope your all having a great holiday season!

In June I had the pleasure of working with the Russell Brothers shooting some interviews at the New York Forum. Two camera Red One shoot. We fortunately had designated floor space assigned for our coverage, which made our shoot go smoothly, as we didn’t have to cram in to the other end of the hall with the major television networks. The speakers were excellent and talked about several issues involving economics and technology. I wouldn’t mind sitting in on this forum every year, it is really something great!

Web Video: .XXX Domain Registration Viral Videos

Over the summer we worked on a shoot through Rooster NYC and shot some spots for .XXX domain name registration, which is going to be new web domains. The spots were made to raise awareness of the new domains, as well as describe the various reasons for buying such a domain. All the spots were pretty damn funny, and instantly hit over a million views on Youtube and starring one of the most hilarious people on the planet, Gavin McInnes. Also some great work from Adam over at Black Dog Jibs!

Sculptor Sydney Cash’s dazzling light installation at The Falcon – a renowned music venue in Marlboro, NY – responds to this original composition by Jazz pianist Romain Collin. The piece was performed and recorded live at The Falcon on September 20th 2011.

The past few months have been seriously busy. I’ve got a ton of Behind the Scenes photos from a whole bunch of shoots. Here are some from a music video for artist Ace Hood directed by Clifton Bell. RED & support from NYLAHD. It was a very cool shoot with a lot of effects that were just done really well. Great lighting, haze machine, and good set design can really go a long way!
