Superblox

Gave some camera assistance to this exciting spot for the toy Superblox.  We shot in central New Jersey, about an hour from the city.  We were able to get our first shot off at dawn and were mobile around the premises for most of the day.  Exterior and interior, at one point we had three Canon 7d rigs up and running, and towards the end had a second unit.

Army guys, Astronauts, Firemen, Policemen.  This is the sort of commercial I would love watching when I was a kid!  It has everything!

DP Matt Workman utilized his handheld lightweight rigs constantly and was able to grab some pretty unconventional angles because of his great mobility with the rigs.  First time seeing Dir. Noah Posnick working, and he is truly great at his trade.  He had a keen vision and was very specific in what he wanted to see, which was key for keeping the production cohesive.  Producer Brendan Kyle Cochrane and AD James Fitzgerald held down the fort and made the shoot keep moving.  All star G & E team, headed by Karl Kim as Gaffer.  It was pretty amazing to see how G&E was able to stay on top of everything, with pre rigging, rigging, and breaking down to keep the shooting continuous.

Hopefully I’ll be able to work with this crew setup more, as this was a lot of fun!
